Creekview Youth Track and Field Team (member of USATF)

Our Track and Field developmental season begins in March and extends through May with 4 to 5 developmental meets (April –May), followed by the optional  USATF Track and Field Season.  The USATF Track and Field season begins in June with the first qualifying meet; the USATF Preliminary Area Meet (6/6).  The season  continues through the end of July based on individual athlete performance/qualification at the 3 post-season championship meets; the USATF Georgia Association State Championships (6/18-6/21), USATF Region 4 Championships (7/9-7/12) and the USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships (7/27-8/2).

Our team practices 2-3 days a week beginning in March through the start of the National Championships from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Creekview High School Track.  When the track is not available, practice is held at the Creekland Middle School football field or Cherokee Veterans Park.

Creekview Youth Cross Country Team (member of USATF)

The USATF Youth Cross Country Season is composed of 5 to 6 regular season meets (Sept-Oct), followed by 3 post-season championship meets; the USATF Georgia Association State Championships (November), USATF Regional Championships (November) and the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Championships (December).

Our team practices 3 days a week beginning in late July through the start of the National Championships from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.  Training locations vary by practice day and include Boling Park, Cherokee Veterans Park, Sequoyah Park, Creekland Middle School, and the Creekview High School track.  Optional practices will be offered on some non-meet weekends throughout the season and added during the week during the post-season.

Eligibility for the Regional Championships is based on qualification at the Georgia Association State Championships.  Eligibility for the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Championships is based on qualification at the USATF Regional Championships.

Middle School / USATF Youth Hybrid Cross Country Season:

In addition to the standard youth program, we are offering a Middle School / USATF Youth Hybrid Cross Country Season to any athletes registered for the Creekland Middle School Cross Country team.  Athletes taking advantage of the Hybrid Season must register for the Middle School Cross Country team and then also register for the Middle School / USATF Youth Hybrid option with the youth team.

During the Middle School Season:

The Hybrid option allows Middle School team athletes to attend two weekly practices on their “train on own” days with the Youth team in a group practice setting.  They are also able to attend any optional weekend practices that are held.

Following the Middle School Season:

The hybrid option allows Middle School team athletes to extend their cross country season following the conclusion of GA State Middle School Championships.  Athletes are able to attend the youth team practices (3-4 days per week) beginning the week following the Middle School Championships.

Registration fees for the hybrid program include participation in two regular season USATF youth meets, the USATF Georgia Association State Championships, USATF Regional Championships and the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Championships.

Eligibility for the Regional Championships is based on qualification at the Georgia Association State Championships.  Eligibility for the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Championships is based on qualification at the USATF Regional Championships.

Track and Field Uniforms

  • The first uniform option is a compression based uniform.  The top is a very form fitting tank top and the bottom is a spandex/tights form and feel. These are typically worn by athletes competing in sprints, high jump, long jump, and mid-distance races. Click here for sizing charts and an example.
  • The second uniform option is a non-compression based uniform.  The top is a regular fit tank top and the bottoms are 4" running shorts with a liner on the inside. These are typically worn by athletes competing in throwing events and distance running events. Click here for sizing charts and an example.
  • Regardless of the event, the above uniform types can be worn while competing in any event.  It's totally based on the athletes preference.
